It’s time to party! Loving and Living Your Way Through Grief, written by my friend Emily Thiroux Threatt, is having a big, virtual launch party on Zoom! On Saturday, January 23 at 11 AM PST, we would love to have you come and bring your friends! There will be prizes! The book is full of information, techniques and stories that can serve you well. Two will be in the Ribbons of Life Breast Cancer Library for you to borrow. Please join us for our January "Clarify and Create What You Want in 2021" ZoomFest. Our January gathering is an opportunity to set goals for yourself. RoL's Founder, Lisa Barreto, will share with us her 3-step formula for goal-setting and other tips that will help bring your long or short-term goals to reality in 2021 and further. Lisa credits her accomplishments... as a result of her various goal-setting techniques and puts actions behind those goals to achieve them. Each January Lisa writes her long and short-term goals after reviewing the goals she set the previous year. Having breast cancer may have delayed some of her goals, but it also helped her create new ones while discovering various resources and ways to monitor and prioritize the advancement of those goals. She created a breast cancer support group at Ventura College, after diagnosis, to focus on education and advocacy. She earned degrees at Ventura College and UCSB while managing her surgeries and treatment as well as the support group. November 14th was our Attitude of Gratitude ZoomFest. Sylvia Rosolek, President announced the Thriver of the Year, Linda Schaefer for her attitude, encouragement of others and involvement in Ribbons of Lifes mission. Our Exemplary Service Award was given to Jo Ann Kirkby for her excellent guidance with the Create4Life Studio and programs and her organization, assistance and support of the Executive Board. We all welcomed five of our male supporters and thanked them for providing us with years of support and sharing their male perspective of the breast cancer journey.
