About 1 in 50 adults (50 years and older) develops exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is a major cause of blindness and visual impairment in adults of that age group. Here is a photo of a large disciform scar, a manifestation of the end stage of AMD. As our very own poet, Dr. Gallemore, says, "Don't get to this state, schedule your RMI date!"

Today, the staff members at Retina Macula Institute would like to wish Dr. Gallemore the happiest of birthdays! His hard work, dedication, and love for his patients are unmatched. We are truly blessed to see this each and every day. When he's not in the office, one of his favorite hobbies is surfing. Whether it be on the local beaches around the South Bay or the waters of Fiji, Dr. G is always on the lookout for a good swell. Thank you Dr. G for inspiring us to be our best. We hope you have a wonderful birthday!

A healthy, 30-year-old male recently experienced a decrease in vision. He tested at 20/70 and was diagnosed with central serous retinopathy. After receiving combination treatment, Dr. Gallemore was able to restore his vision back to 20/20 in a matter of 2 weeks!
