Resurrection Kustoms 01.12.2020

Just a little advice I would like to share with anyone looking to buy an "Old Trailer to Fix-Up", in the eight years I've been painting, restoring and repairing vintage trailers I always come across someone who paid way to much for what they hauled home and eventually to me because it turned out to be " a little more work than I thought it would be". To often someone brings in a trailer they paid thousands of their hard earned dollars for and have no idea it is worth about $...200 for parts, and then to tell them it would be another $4000 plus to get it safe and usable. Seriously I have talked to three people in the last year that spent about $6000 for about $800 worth of trailers! Yes I am a businessman but I hate to see people get burned because they don't know what they are buying, there is a reason a seller puts a fresh coat of paint over all the cabinets and walls, and paints the outside with a roller ( nothing against anyone who likes this) but for the most part they're hiding damage, water damage from leaky windows and seams are very common in vintage trailers and not a reason not to buy it, most water damage can be fixed by anyone with basic skills and internet access, but behind the paneling is usually more than the average person wants to mess with and it's all hidden and expensive to repair, it often involves removing the sheet metal and opening up a can of worms. My point is this, if you're buying a vintage trailer for the first time check it out carefully like you would a home, you will be living in it from time to time right? Look inside all the cabinets, under the beds, under the sink, in the bathrooms, bounce on the floor a few times feel if it is soft, is anything missing or an obvious repair, check the wiring and plumbing, roof vent leaks are common, are the entry door and door frame square or sagging, signs of frame damage. Outside are there holes in the sheet metal, maybe a vent cover added to hide a large hole somewhere, I can go on and on, don't buy it because it's cute, come see me if you want repairs, upgrades, paint jobs, or even a full restoration, I hope I don't see you because you got taken, but if you did I'll be glad to help you. Thanks for your time, Dave, owner at Resurrection Kustom See more

Here's a a little update on what's been going on at Resurrection Kustoms, some of our customers remember when I was doing restoration and painting at my house, I probably worked on at least 30 trailers in those couple of years before I got the shop in Perris, Ca. We just out grew the work space I had at my house but that is where it all started with the help of my good friends and neighbors Bob and Cindy Ross. Bob asked me to paint a trailer for him and when he got it back he... told me I would have more work than I can handle if I wanted it, that was about six years ago and did it really take off, we now do full restoration and repairs on vintage trailers, anyway the shop and yard I leased from the City of Perris for three years is now being taken over by Cal Fire so last October I moved the shop back to my house for the time being till we decide our next move, we still offer all the same services and workmanship as when we had our shop, I live in Romoland, Ca which is next to Perris, so we are still in the same general area. We would like to thank all our customers and look forward to what God has planned for us this year. Thank You, Dave Rico and Harvey Barrera See more
