With a sobriety date to 11/5/2019 Resurgence Alumni Brooke Taylor has reached 1 year sober Today! This program has done so much to kick start recovery in so many people’s lives... Here is what Brooke has to say to those needing a little hope to keep pushing! I honestly don’t know where to start. Other peoples words can seem so empty when you are not ready to hear them. All I have are my own experiences, everyone experiences something different. Everyone learns differently a...nd everyone heals differently. What we all have in common is that we have all been through so much and are all looking for the same outcome. For me, I was always trying to achieve something that seemed impossible. But I now know that I just wasn’t ready. Being ready meant a lot of things I was not ready for. A few being, honesty, accountability, having faith and letting go of the fear of failure. My failures could always be washed away by another bottle. Once I was ready I knew in my heart, something just clicked and I just knew there was no going back for me. I replaced fear and failure with faith and inner peace. A peace I never knew was possible. A peace I never want to compromise. I had to find it for myself, in my own way. There were many people, prayers, books and tears along the way and I am so grateful to everyone who played a roll in my journey to sobriety and inner peace. It is out there and you can find it if you just let yourself. Listen to your heart, then give yourself as much time as you need to get it right. I never imagined I would say today has been a year. And now, I look forward to continuing to count each year. #WeDoRecoverChallenge #SoberIsSexy #SoberIsBetter #Resurgence #California #Just24Hours #AA #NA #SMART #Just24Hours #Recovery See more

Change, is something that we are uncomfortable with at times. We like consistency and remaining comfortable. However without change, we won’t notice the growth. Change is a part of life and walking through uncomfortable situations can benefit us tremendously. It is important to try to accept change and even welcome it. You’d be amazed at what you can accomplish with a little surrender.

#WeDoRecoverChallenge She was in active addiction on the left & on the right, is celebrating 119 days today of recovery! She’s a beautiful mom to wonderful kids who made a complete turn around for her life. Below is her story VVVV... So many people can sit here and superficially say that they wouldn’t know where they would be if it wasn’t for recovery But Resurgence completely saved me FROM ME. I was locked in a prison I created & Resurgence came flying in with the key... The KEY that BROKE the CHAINS off of me... between them & my higher power - GOD- I honestly, truly do not know where I’d be..My addiction began at 15 & IT’S BEEN HELL, a true merry-go-round of INSANITY. Being raped, attempting suicide, witnesseing the father of my kids OD 3 times & doing my best to save his life and in the end for him to hold a knife to my throat to try to take mine, being held at gunpoint by a man that I thought could protect me from the previous one, using a needle to literally inject poison into someones life eventually losing my kids because I was no longer providing a safe environment... Between myself, people that loved me, or my environment... death was always around the corner....there were many more moments like those that I masqueraded...I might’ve looked happy I might’ve looked OK but on the inside I was dying every single day I’ve been into many broken, dark, and scary places and Resurgence DUG ME OUT of my GRAVE and became my SAVING GRACE. I can sing my heart out and it will actually have substance. I can tell you I love you and I’ll actually mean it. I can tell you I’ll be somewhere and I’ll go with no hesitation. I can tell you I won’t falter and I’ll actually be loyal. The most beautiful part about all of this is I get to sit behind a computer, I get to speak behind a phone & I get to welcome those that are just as lost & broken as I once was and help them find a home in their own heart. Welcome them into the arms of Resurgence so that they can find the hope, freedom, & Faith that they can ACTUALLY LIVE again. I haven’t lived for 11 years.... and damn this feels good. Thank you Resurgence most of all because now I know what it looks like to be able to provide my kids with the #1 thing that they need- True Love & SAFETY #recoveryawarenessmonth
