Prolactin is a hormone that stimulates milk production in women. Too much prolactin (hyperprolactinemia) can disrupt ovulation and lead to irregular menstrual cycles, making it more difficult to conceive. Some common causes of high prolactin levels are hypothyroidism, pituitary tumors, medication and surgery. In most cases, oral medication can be taken to reduce prolactin levels. #Repost @martis_mslife: The pandemic really showed us all what is truly important, and for me, that’s family. I realized outside my illness that my journey is not promised, and if a family is what I wanted, why should I wait? For those who don’t know, my journey actually started back in 2019. I uncovered that I was going through induced menopause. So I started the process of freezing my eggs. 2 years later, I wanted to begin that voyage again. First up is finding if I am ...healthy enough to conceive on my own or if I needed a surrogate. I am so ecstatic to let you all know that I’ve decided to start the process this year. It’s something that has been on my mind ever since the pandemic started and what better time to start than now? My team @reproductivepartners is amazing. The support I got from them is out of this world. So, wish me luck! My advice for you people out there, is to do whatever it is that you want to do. Life is short and no one is holding you back but yourself. So go do it! . . . . . #RPMG #IVF #ivfjourney #fertility #infertility #infertilitysucks #eggfreezing #motherhood #pregnancy #patient #fertilitypatient #california #socal #doctor #ttc #family #infertilitysupport #baby #love #infertilitywarrior #infertilityawareness #ttccommunity #fertilitytreatment #IVFwarrior #fertilityawareness #ivfjourney See more

#RG from actress, humanitarian, advocate and #RPMG patient @camilleguaty: It takes a village to create a family. When reflecting on my journey I realized there were so many people that held me up and encouraged me to keep going. When I was scared they reassured me, when I had doubt, they believed for me. They offered me a warm smile and more often then not they held my hand as I cried. Our last and final #IVF round, we had one #embryo. It wasn’t the best of quality, but tho...se #embryologists treated it like the Golden Egg. They assured me nothing would happen to this egg! To all the office staff, nurses, embryologists, anesthesiologists, doctors, therapists, acupuncturistsyou all were so instrumental in bringing my little #miracle #baby to me. Words cannot express how much #gratitude I have for you all. . . . . . #IVF #ivfjourney #fertility #infertility #motherhood #pregnancy #california #socal #doctor #ttc #family #infertilitysupport #baby #love #rainbowbaby #infertilitywarrior #infertilityawareness #IVFwarrior #ivfjourney #DEIVF #CamilleGuaty #nurses See more

Clomid (clomiphene citrate), is a commonly prescribed fertility drug that is typically the first line treatment for couples with unexplained infertility. How does it work? It is an oral medication taken for five days at the beginning of a woman’s menstrual cycle that stimulates ovulation. It is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that works by making the body think that your estrogen levels are lower than they are, which causes the pituitary gland to increase secre...tion of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH). Higher levels of FSH stimulate the ovary to grow one or multiple follicles that ultimately release an egg at the time of ovulation. IUI, or intrauterine insemination, is used to treat many types of infertility. IUI, often combined with oral ovulation inducing medications such as Clomid or Letrozole, is often the first treatment recommended before moving on to more invasive options, such as in-vitro fertilization (IVF). IUI can help overcome issues with low sperm count, cervical factor infertility and unexplained infertility. IUI is also used to help women achieve pregnancy with donor sperm. With IUI, sperm are washed and concentrated, and then placed directly into the uterus, putting them closer to the egg. To learn more about IUI, or to schedule a virtual consultation please click the link in bio.

A woman’s weight, whether too high or too low, can affect her ability to get pregnant. Very low body weight can cause ovulation disorders and irregular menstrual cycles. Excess body weight can also negatively impact ovulation. Overweightness and obesity may also decrease the chance of pregnancy and increase the risk of miscarriage, even if a woman is ovulating regularly. The ERA (Endometrial Receptivity Array) is a relatively new test that measures the gene expression of 248 genes in a woman’s endometrium (uterine lining) to determine the optimal timing for an embryo transfer during a frozen embryo transfer cycle. If you have experienced implantation failures, ERA testing may improve your chance of achieving a successful implantation through personalizing your embryo transfer timing. Low-dose, minimal stimulation (Mini), and mild stimulation IVF are IVF cycles that use oral medications (eg. Clomid) alone or together with lower doses of injectable medications (gonadotropins) than are used in conventional IVF. These low-dose IVF stimulation protocols typically result in retrieval of fewer eggs (often 1-6), but focus on egg quality. Patients may choose this option for various reasons including lower cost, low ovarian reserve, prior poor outcome with traditional IVF cycle, or high risk of hyperstimulation.
