Not only are Trump’s immigration policies cruel, but they’re also a complete waste of money. It cost $775 per child per night to house migrant children separate...d from their parents, more than double what it costs to detain migrant families together. Meanwhile, for-profit companies have scored huge contracts to hold migrant children in squalid conditions. There is no reason taxpayers should be subsidizing these atrocities at the border. We must continue speaking out on behalf of these children and their families. Trump’s cruelty and greed must be stopped, and those responsible for these abuses must be held accountable.

Facts about poverty and hunger in America Even in the world’s greatest food-producing nation, children and adults face poverty and hunger in every county across America. In 2017: 40 million people struggle with hunger in the United States, including more than 12 million children.... A household that is food insecure has limited or uncertain access to enough food to support a healthy life. Households with children were more likely to be food insecure than those without children 58% of food-insecure households participated in at least one of the major federal food assistance program the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamps); the National School Lunch Program and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (often called WIC) From FeedingAmerica.org
The volunteers at the Richmond Emergency Food Pantry continue to provide nutritious food to our neighbors in need. Please remember the pantry at all times during the year, not just the holidays. Food shortage is not seasonal.
The Richmond Emergency Food Pantry continues to serve the community in these dark and difficult times. We rely on donations from members of our community who are not facing food scarcity and who are able to help their neighbors in times of distress. Thank you!
Kaylie’s family can’t afford a refrigerator. Johnny dreams of eating meals somewhere other than a shelter. Here’s a candid look at hunger in America, explained by three kids living in food-insecure homes. http://bit.ly/2u1AgLd
