Welcome back to Chateau Francis. Behind the scenes, the formal dining room has most of the silk upholstery and curtains now in place.

Make A Contemporary Sugar Tree. 6 Steps. 1. Use a tree with a heavy coat of flock. The white makes a perfect undertone. I flocked myself using a canned.( four Cans.) 2. Next kick it up a notch by using half a container of sprinkles which will stick to the wet flocking and add a subtle shimmer. 3. The tree needs to be thoroughly dry before decorating so let it dry outside for a solid day in the Sun or (hot tip) spray the tree with hairspray. 4. Use ornaments of varying si...zes pick ornaments that have a coating of sparkles. From a distance the ornaments appear to be coated with candied sugar! I used a simple palette of light blue ,white, pink, gold and teal (teal is the 2021colour of the year) Large ornaments on 1st, fill in with small ones. Make your tree personal by AddIng in a few sentimental or regional ornaments. I live by the ocean so there are mermaids ,shells and starfish among the collection 5. Fill in the gaps using some foam snow ,you can tear off pieces to add to the tips of the branches. 6. The tree smell always seems to go away quicker than you would like.( see last picture) add many of these little buggers and you won't have to worry about it all season long. Plus its fun! See more

Surf Legend Mike Tomson died this week. There was a paddle out in his honor this morning. Attended by a gnarly list of surf greats, including a performance on ukulele, by a descendent of The Father of surfing Duke Kahanamuku.I rode a board that used to belong to another legend "Buttons". Thanks to @norm.ying
