Dear friends, We have been having extensive conversations with our musicians and their agents, board members , audience members, and other concert producers about what the future of live music will look like. We very much want to and plan to continue to provide our music series in our 41st year in a way that keeps everyone safe, but how that happens will almost certainly look different than it ever has before. Musicians are eager to get back on stage and we are just as eager... to make that happen, while strictly adhering to the guidelines set forth by the county. Our main concern will always be the safety and peace of mind of our audience members and musicians. As the health threat in Sonoma County evolves, if we are allowed to hold our events, we will structure each concert - the seating, the spacing, the sanitizing - to minimize the risk from public contact. Shorter concerts with no intermission are a possible plan. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. For the 2020-2021 season we have considered many, many options, including limiting audiences to 40, and perhaps adding matinee as well as evening performances. Some concerts may take place outdoors in the OCA amphitheater if weather permits, and possibly include streaming. By 2021 we hope the COVID-19 threat will have eased enough to permit closer seating and allow us to host some of our favorites from outside of California. If we are still practicing social distancing in 2021, some musicians, such as Amit Peled have offered multiple concerts for small audiences in one weekend. Musicians love coming to Sonoma County as much as you love hearing them! We will be updating our http://www.redwoodarts.org website as plans firm up. We aim to have our 2020-2021 season announced by September. The planned season will most likely change with circumstances and the key word is "flexibility". This 41st season will be like no other before for Redwood Arts, but stand by - there will be a season.
We hope you can join us for a wonderful concert on March 20 at 7:30.
