Redwood Coast Fishing with Mike Stratman

Fishing isn’t exactly hot right now, but there have been a few around the last handful of days. After the rivers settle after this upcoming high water, it should be on!

Well, we finally got enough water a couple of weeks to open up some salmon fishing up north. Unfortunately, outside of a couple of good days on the Chetco, fishing was a grind. At least we got a shot this year and we’re able to see some pretty salmon. Steelhead are up next on the menu. My only openings thru the first week of March are December 29-31. Fishing remains strong on the river. I switched over for some ‘butt fishing today and while the fishing was a bit slower that I’d like, we still caught some really quality fish. I’ll be in the bay for the next three days before I get back in freshwater.

A fun couple of weeks on the Klamath. The lower river adult fish quota is now closed but we can still keep jacks. Fishing has been outstanding, so lots of fun to be had.

Cesar lost the bet, and Sam collected! I like how the Mendez family rolls....

They’re getting bigger. It’s that time of year....

Fishing has been outstanding! We are into some big tides, but we’ll be back to great conditions starting Sunday. I have some space for next week, so get out of the heat and catch some ‘butts!
