Memorial Day service 2021, Hillside Cemetery, Redlands, California. I so love that our small town loves and honors all American Veterans and on Memorial Day honors all of the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. As an Elk here in Redlands, I am proud of our fraternal organization who also helps American Veterans in anyway we can. Today, Exalted Ruler Ronnie Beard honored our fallen Veterans and placed a wreath on behalf of our lodge Redlands #583. Other Members of the lodge also participated in the ceremony: Julie Martinez sang the National Anthem, fellow Redlands Elk, Mayor Paul Barich, addressed the audience, and many members were in attendance.
Much thanks to David Crow, Kevin Johnston, April Finazzo - representing our Veterans Service Committee - for finalizing the Focus Grant with this donation. Well done team 583.
Their are a lot of veterans that we serve who have diabetes, but we never had much to offer them. We would like to thank our new community partner Redlands Elks... Lodge for offering us a $500 credit from Smart and Final that allowed us to create a sugar free section in our pantry to support the veterans with diabetes. We received everything we needed plus they actually went over the $500 to make sure we got everything we needed. May God bless you for your generosity and kindness for veterans. Now we offer ongoing education and a sugar free section in our pantry! Merry Christmas Everyone!!
If you’re a fan of Chili’s and love supporting our Major Project where we help children with Cerebral Palsy walk, talk, see, and play, this will be a great opportunity to exercise both options in one felled swoop.
Well done members of the Redlands Elks. You donated 335 lbs of food to Redlands Family Service Association. Every bit helps our community.

One of the two $50,000 scholarship recipients came out of California. He competed among 19,000 applications nationally. Congratulations to Sanitago Alvillar of El Monte. He graduated as Valedictorian and received admission to Stanford, Harvard, and MIT. He will complete his undergrad in Engineering Physics at Stanford. https://chea-elks.org/mvs-2020-winner/
In the year 1911, the Grand Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks designated June 14 as the day to commemorate our flag and we are the only fraternal order to do so. Today we honored our flag by conducting our annual ceremony at our lodge. This is normally a public event well attended by veterans and the community and includes retiring flags. Today we modified the event to stay within state and county guidelines by limiting our ceremony to ten people.
Elks will always remember our fallen American Heroes.
May we Remember today, tomorrow, and always
05/14/2020 Redlands, CA: Exalted Ruler Lisa Hubbell of the Redlands Elks Lodge #583 applied for the Gratitude Grant available from the Elks National Foundation as managed by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Grand Lodge. The Lodge was awarded the $2000.00 grant to support a local relief agency during this COVID-19 pandemic. The funds were donated to our local food pantry, Redlands Family Service Association. The Redlands Elks lodge has been helping in the Redlands community since 1900 and will continue to support our community. We are excited to work with the Volunteers for Veterans Foundation to support more homeless veterans moving into permanent supportive housing. This new partnership helps us expand our Welcome Home Project funded by an Elks National Veterans Service Commission Grant.
152nd Anniversary of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks:
Our Order is celebrating 152 years of service today!
Valentine’s Day will soon be over, but Cupid is working for one more day! Tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of reduced adoption fees at Redlands Anima...l Shelter! Fees come with basic vaccines and surgery. There are plenty of big dogs to choose from and many friendly and loving cats. The reduced fees are being covered by the Redlands Elks Lodge and Redfosa.
Five winners of the Redlands Elks Lodge’s Hoop Shoot competition recently participated in the Elks Southeast District Hoop Shoot, held on the campus of the University of Redlands, and one of them took first place in his division. Ivan Vega of Judson & Brown Elementary School came in first in the 8- and 9-year-old boys division in the Jan. 14 competition. He shot 22 of 25 baskets and went on to a five-shot tiebreaker, according to a press release from the Redlands Elks Lodge.... This is Ivan’s second year in the Elks Hoop Shoot, and he will go on to the semi state competition, to be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at Citrus Valley High School in Redlands. - Redlands Daily Facts Read more here: https://www.redlandsdailyfacts.com//one-elks-hoop-shoot-w/
