This morning we continue our study through the book of Acts as we see God work in the church of Antioch. God uses Barnabas in an intrumental way to encourage the church and to know exactly what the church needed at this time. It was here that the followers of Christ were first called "Christians."

Expectations sometimes cause confusion and frustate perfectly good things. God used Peter to help the early church understand that we God often operates outside and beyond our expectations. As we continue in the book of Acts, we see God some amazing things that may shock us and surprise us.

Thank you for joining us this Sunday morning as we continue with our series in the book of Acts. There is a lot that God wants us to know about himself, the church and His mission in this book, and we are excited to continue exploring this important text. Join us each we as we gather to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you have any questions or would like to hear from someone at the church, please feel free to reach out and engage us. We would love to hear from you.

Due to the smoke from the fire, we had to move our service inside again. We pray that this is a blessing to you as we continue to navigate through this challenging year.

Redeemer Church family and friends: the challenges and struggles that this year has brought us just keep coming. Last Sunday we decided last minute to do our service online only due to the lightning storms that hit the Bay Area. Some who have grown up here have said that they had never seen anything like it before here; lightning and storms, especially in the summer time, here are practically unheard of. And although many of us enjoyed the early morning display of power in th...e sky, it ended up causing us to cancel our regular outdoor morning service and move our service to Facebook Live. As we looked to the coming weekend, we were looking forward to gathering together again for our service this weekend. Yet, due to the many fires that the lightning of last week’s storms caused and the hazardous air quality that is predicted for Sunday, we have decided that we will be moving our service this Sunday once again online. It is our longing and deep desire to gather together in person, but we also believe that this is a time that we have been given by God to wait and to anticipate the blessing of being present with one another again, and to hope for the final restoration of all things to the praise of God’s glorious grace. Let us join our hearts and minds together as the body of Christ as we connect this Sunday through our liturgy and the preaching of God’s word.

ONLINE ONLY TODAY: Due to today’s weather uncertainty, we will be broadcasting our service only online, and will NOT be gathering in person. Tune in at our normal time for a time of worship at encouragement. Grateful to be treated an amazing display of God’s wonder and power here in the Bay Area!

Reflecting on an account of Mary and Martha from Luke 10, Max Critchfield talks about "Choosing What is Best." Right now as we grapple with uncertainty, we should know and believe that it is not a waste of time to sit humbly at the feet of Jesus to learn and recieve his words of truth and grace.
