Another successful RDR expedition.

Redding Dirt Riders 07.06.2021

The rider who traveled the farthest to this year’s Shasta Dam Grand Prix was Douglas. Douglas came all the way from Kansas! He is originally from Shasta County but moved to the Midwest. He is a proud member of the Winneman Wintu, a local native tribe of our area. Hear what Douglas had to say about this year’s Day 2, Race 2 course. ... Thanks for coming Douglas and hope to see you back next year!

On Day 1, Race 1 several racers were interviewed and asked to provide some racing tips and advice for the big boys in the AA class on Sunday. Those videos are in earlier posts. Check those out because you have some 4-5 year olds who know what time it is and are RACERS. Justin Bonita was our overall Sunday winner putting on a stellar riding display. Justin was asked if he would do an interview and provide some tips for aspiring black and red plate racers who are kids who look up to him and the other red/black plate racers. Justin jumped right on the opportunity and the video is the result. Justin Bonita, thank you. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience with the future of the sport. Looking forward to seeing you back in 2022!

Race 1 overall 2nd (red plate) and 3rd (black plate, for a little longer) interview replying with some advice back to the race 1, day 1 riders! Gentlemen, you are both a class act. Never forget where you started and that the kids look up to you. Thank you.

Poker Run update. Today RDR members were out at Chappie-Shasta finalizing the course. You will enjoy a loop of approximately 24 miles with nearly 5000 feet of ascent/decent. If the course is ran at a consistent pace the course should take novice riders 2-3hours. Some will take less time, others more than three hours. All depends on the rider's skill level and breaks taken along the course. No matter what, miles of smiles. The route will have some "easier" bypasses alon...g the course with bail points to shorten up the course if needed. Keep in mind, the route has everything from "green circle"/easiest trails to "black diamond"/most difficult trails. Due to Covid, food will not be served to the general public. We are doing what we can to have the safest and most fun event possible during these very unprecedented times. Please come prepared with your own food/beverages. Camping at Chappie-Shasta is permitted at this time. If county restrictions increase, that may change.

Have a listen to Baja Iron Man and Redding Dirt Rider Harv Grant as he discusses his 2020 Baja 1000 experience. Way to go Harvey! We are all very proud of you.

Poker Run update... Camping is availble at this time at the OHV. That could change if the local Covid restrictions change. The club has nothing to do with camping or reserving spots for camping.
