Every bloom, just as unique as the next, is how we view our employee community at Recology. To celebrate our employee ownership culture, we're partnering with Artstart to create two murals at our facilities in Santa Rosa and Petaluma, featuring a range of local Sonoma County #wildflowers. Each flower will be painted by a Recology employee with support and guidance from Artstart from brush to bloom. #employeeowned #SantaRosa #Petaluma

#WhereItGoesWednesday! Did you know you can compost spoiled food in the #compost bin, keeping it out of the landfill? Not only does this #reduce methane produced in the landfill, but compost actually pulls carbon from the air. It's an easy go-to for combatting climate change!
Don't miss our recent video collaboration with The Climate Center - featuring our #recycling sorting facility and some interesting facts about the role #compost plays in combatting #climatechange! Questions? Ask in the comments, our #WasteZero team is here to answer them! https://bit.ly/35Eq8df
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like masks and gloves are not recyclable. Please dispose of PPE by placing in the trash. Curious about responsible disposal instructions for other household materials? Check out our handy search tool: https://bit.ly/34yjbID.
#MeetTheTeamMonday Meet Darlene! You can usually find her at the front desk at our Customer Service Site at 3400 Standish Avenue in Santa Rosa. While we closed our facilities to the public for a while, she is now happy to welcome customers back (while maintaining social distance and facial covering guidelines, of course)! Darlene has lived in Sonoma County for 34 years, the last 4 of which she has spent in our industry. Next time you stop by our office in Santa Rosa, say to Darlene.
If you were forced to evacuate due to fires and your food has gone bad, please remember to compost! Food scraps and yard debris can go in the green bin, but ple...ase remove plastic, glass, and metal packaging first. Condiments and dressings should NOT go down the sink as they will cause clogs. If you can, empty them into the green bin, then rinse and recycle the bottle. #SonomaStrong https://zerowastesonoma.gov/materia/yard-debris-food-scraps See more
Fire Evacuees who are returning home - if you have any food that has gone bad, please remove the packaging and place all food waste in your green compost cart. Clean and dry food and beverage containers can be placed in your blue recycle cart. Find out more at recology.com/rsmwhatbin
