We all do it! What is text neck syndrome? Text neck syndrome is the cute name we give to anterior forward head carriage caused by looking down on your phone all day. It’s also called student syndrome which happens when a student sits in a desk and looks down for hours at a time. Text neck affects everyone who uses a computer, spends a lot of time sitting down, and anyone who uses a cellphone. Swipe to the second picture to see how much pressure you’re putting on your spine! I... challenge you to look at the people around you; do they have rounded shoulders? Are their heads sitting neutral on their spine or are their heads forward? Chances are, most people you see have the dreaded text neck. There are definitely ways to correct it! Chiropractic adjustments are just part of the solution. Adjustments help your joints and muscles move freely and optimally but passive care can’t be all you do. Chiropractic care is to help reduce pain, increase range of motion, and decompress your spine. Rehab and exercises (active care) are shown to have long term success for postural correction and pain management. Pilates for core postural muscle strengthening, chin tucks to help strengthen the deep neck flexors to keep your head upright, and Breugger’s exercise to help your anterior chain open up are just some ways to help combat the stress imposed on your upper body and neck by computers, desks, and the infamous cell phone. The sooner you start, the better the long term results! Be smart and correct the dreaded text neck today! It’s never too late! @ Marina del Rey, California

I’ve been traveling for the past week and am so ready to be back in sunny Los Angeles! I love my city where the weather is always mild and the avocados are always plenty! . I can’t wait to get my adjustment from my chiropractor since flying and sleeping on hotel beds can be really rough on my body. When you fly, your body decompresses and compresses just like a bottle of water or a bag of chips! This phenomenon isn’t the bed for our body, not to mention the tight quarters yo...u’re trapped in on the flight. . Chicago was amazing and fun! I got to experience every single season in one week hahaha! It was raining in the 40s, sunny in the 70s followed by snowing in the 30s. Ready to be back home where the weather is kinda warm to pretty warm to hot. #chiropractic #wanderlust @ Chicago, Illinois

Sitting at work thinking about Pi... actually... I’m thinking about pie! Growing up, I always loved math. I loved how it just fit. I loved how there was only one right answer but you could be so creative with journey to get the right answer. It allowed for so much creativity but ended at the same place!... So bringing it back it to health care, there are so many ways to get to the right treatment for each condition. I always preach integrative care, I know that every practitioner sees each problem through different eyes. What a better way to tackle a problem by exhausting every path of treatment? Medical science and medical advances are great, they prolong a health life and improve quality of life. Conservative medicine also improves quality of life and prolongs a healthy life! I always say that conservative care is better until it is not anymore! I always recommend conservative care over invasive treatments first. Try conservative care instead of masking the symptoms with pain relievers and muscle relaxer. If it doesn’t work and every avenue has been exhausted, modern medicine, modern surgery, and the medical model is great! I’m absolutely not saying one is better than the other, I’m just saying that they both have a time and a place. Why not practice an integrative type of care? Chiropractors can improve your quality of life in so many ways. I will never tell you that I can fix or cure your type 1 diabetes though, I will never tell you I can fix or cure an autoimmune problem. Just never! What I can help you with is easing the discomfort, helping your body function optimally the way it was designed to, and I can help with nutrition to ease symptoms and make the whole ordeal a little easier. Anyways, happy Pi day!

Did you know that only 20% of practice Chiropractors are women? In a male dominated field, I know women provide something special. I have known so many powerhouse female chiropractors that I look up to. I’m so proud to be part of this small group! I know that behind every strong woman, there is a huge support system of strong women. We do better when we work together. Happy international women’s day to everyone! Let’s make this world a more equal space.

Herman Miller #Aeron Vs #Steelcase Leap I recently bought a new office chair for my work office. I explored the two powerhouse #ergonomic chair companies, Herman Miller and Steelcase. I ended up purchasing the leap off the recommendation of a patient turned friend and I think it was the right decision! #SteelcaseLeap for the win!... We have the #HermanMillerAeron you see in the picture for our home office. Although it is comfortable and has many ergonomic functions, it didn’t compare to the new Steelcase Leap office chair. Aesthetically I think the Aeron looks prettier but the comfort of the Leap could not be beat. Honestly, we liked the Steelcase Leap so much that we bought two more Leaps to replace our office chairs in our home office. Bye bye Aeron, hello Leap! In total, I officially have 3 Steelcase Leap office chairs now. #worthit
We’re open today and only have a couple spots left! Book your next appointment and don’t miss out! #byappointmentonly
