Independence Day is celebrated with a different flare this year. The celebration requires an effort from residents and visitors to be responsible and respectful... by maintaining physical distance, in accordance with CDC recommendations. The community is invited to enjoy the fireworks show from their cars, boats, homes, city parks and other vantage points that allow for social distancing on Saturday, July 4th, scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m. and last approximately 15 minutes. Additional information regarding the fireworks activities can be followed the evening of the show by listening to local radio stations, KNTR 980AM. During the fireworks show music will be choreographed on this station. It is our goal to commemorate America’s Independence in a meaningful way, while creating a safe environment for our residents and visitors. #MaskUpHavasu

(Please share) The Lake Havasu Fireworks show is scheduled for July 4th, Saturday night in Thompson bay. The show will begin around 9:00pm. Beaches will be open... and the BridgeWater Channel will also remain open. The fireworks will be visible from several parks and other areas all over town so no need to crowd up. Practice social distancing or wear a mask if the 6’ recommended social distancing isn’t possible. Masks are not mandatory in Lake Havasu but if people do their best to keep the social distance, hopefully we will not be mandated to wear them in the future. If people follow recommended social distancing, hopefully the Channel will remain open after this weekend. See more

A curfew will be in effect for Los Angeles County, including the City of Santa Clarita, tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. This action from the County comes a...fter days of rioting and looting in Southern California and across the country. According to the Sheriff, Alex Villanueva, the curfew is a useful tool to separate the people who have a legitimate reason to be somewhere and the people who are looking to loot and cause trouble. The safety of residents and protection of property is the top concern for the Sheriff’s Department and the City of Santa Clarita.
