Repeal of the personal and dependent exemptions.... 4. Child tax credit doubled and extended to higher incomes 5. Mortgage Interest Deduction reduced 6. SALT Tax ( State and Local Tax Capped at 10K.) 7. Exclusion of Capital Gains Retained. 8. Deduction of Qualified Business Income With regards to QBI, basically states that pass through entities are eligible for 20% above the line deduction including sole proprietors and independent contractors. I'm an investor and also have my realtor license and it does have an impact on agents, brokers, property managers and RE investors as the deduction is available for taxable income upto 157,500$(single fliers) and 315,000 (joint filers). Over these thresholds there is a phase out of range of 50,000(single)/ 100,000(joint). This is available to both itemizers and non itemizers. The same also applies to real estate investors for rentals. QBI deduction is determined separately on the QBI qualified amount only and lowers the total taxable income after the standard deductions etc by that amount.
