Some bakery items never go out of style (and are never taken off the menu). Our Coconut Cream Pie is one of those. It's just a simple, creamy, old-fashioned mouthful of from-scratch goodness.

Ahhhh...stone fruit season has begun and we couldn't be happier. A simple, yummy apricot Crusty Lusty is one of our favorite ways to celebrate.

Happy, happy, happy holidays to all our treasured customers and friends! We are profoundly grateful for your support this past year - you collectively (and generously) kept our pie business going, through extremely challenging times. Thank you!! We are open today to hand out pre-ordered pies, and we also have a limited number of extra pies available for spontaneous folks who want to simply walk in. We'll be here until 5pm today.

We're happy to report that we have a limited number of our Mincesweet pies available this weekend! This re-imagined version of an iconic holiday pie - Mincemeat - is minus the meat (and meat products), and is crafted with a plethora of gorgeous local ingredients: organic dried apricots and peaches, quinces, apples, mandarin oranges, tart cherries and currants. We cooked the Mincesweet mixture for hours with liberal amounts of brandy, port, and spices like cloves, cinnamon, and allspice, which filled our kitchen with an unbelievable fragrance. Come check out this lovely and unique seasonal pie while it lasts!

Meet the Crusty Lusty - a palm-sized, apple-stuffed, crispy-crunchy-flaky fun-filled treat. Embellished with a luscious dollop of dulce de leche, the Crusty Lusty is a fabulous excuse to veer off that boring January diet.

It is with so much happiness that we announce our new partnership with Nugget Markets inElk Grove!!! Many folks from the Elk Grove area have requested that we bring our pies a little closer to them, and we’ve finally been able to do that. This gorgeous grocery store is located at 7101 Elk Grove Boulevard, and, starting tomorrow (woohoo!!) it will carry a yummy selection of our fruit and cream pies. Straight from our kitchen to Nugget's shelves, the pies are baked fresh and delivered throughout the week to the store. We are truly honored to partner with Nugget Markets, and so delighted that our pies now have a home in Elk Grove.

We have such a talented staff! Our wonderful baker, Kasey, also happens to be an artist, and many of us wear the whimsical earrings she loves to make. Often featuring a fruit, vegetable, or pie motif, the earrings are so colorful and fun! Kasey was kind enough to make some earrings for us this Christmas season so we could sell them at the shop. They make great gifts! Come check them out - they're only $15. Happy holidays!

Attention all mincemeat pie lovers: This season we are offering a re-imagined (and meatless) version of this holiday dessert classic, with a focus on celebrating beautiful local produce. Capay Valley dried organic peaches and apricots, Placer County citrus, Sacramento quinces, Apple Hill apples and NorCal currants are slow-cooked with a generous splash of brandy and Port to create a stunning and intensely-flavored treat. Available in limited quantities.

We're pretty darned happy to announce that our Boozy Rum Cake is back!! We weren't going to put it on the menu until November, but customers have let us know that they're tired of waiting for it. This is one of our very favorite cakes - simple, comforting, and - well - definitely boozy. It's for the 21-and-over crowd only. Come try a slice!! We're open for takeout Friday through Sunday.

I wanted to give a shout-out to our friends at Magpie Café in downtown Sac their current menu includes one of the most mind-blowing vegetable-centric dishes I have ever encountered. Visually stunning, the Seasonal Vegetable & Chickpea Hummus bowl is crammed full of roasted endive, melt-in-your mouth Brussels Sprouts, carrots, tender chunks of squash, blistered, sweet-soft peppers, and zucchini. Partnered with a generous amount of oh-so-creamy hummus, an organic 6-minute egg and lovely, chewy locally-grown black rice, this dish is extraordinary. If you love vegetables, do yourself a favor and run out for this one, before it’s gone.

New month...new menu! Our Cazuela pie (pictured) is back - made with pumpkin, sweet potato & coconut milk, this is a unique and marvelous seasonal pie with its own enthusiastic fan club! Bourbon-Walnut pie has also returned, as has our comforting mini Buttermilk pie. If you’re seeking something savory, both our Chili Pot Pie and our 3-Cheese Mac ‘n Cheese with Broccoli are back on the menu and are available frozen/unbaked. Happy Fall!!!

Dear Valued Customers and Friends: Please join in our excitement as we announce our new partnership with Nugget Market in.Roseville! This lovely store, located at 771 Pleasant Grove Boulevard, now carries a selection of both our fruit and cream pies. Straight from our kitchen to Nugget's shelves, the pies are baked fresh and delivered throughout the week to Nugget. This means Roseville residents can now pick up a Real Pie, any day of the week, right in their own backyard! We are honored to partner with Nugget Markets, and so delighted that our pies now have a home in Placer County.

Our savory products are now available....unbaked and frozen! Pick up a frozen chicken pot pie, shepherd's pie, macaroni & cheese or savory hand pie (broccoli & cheddar or kale/sausage/feta), pop it in your home freezer, and bake it up whenever the mood strikes you! Did you know it was National Honey Month? Come celebrate with our Local Wildflower Honey pie, topped with a tangy Greek yogurt whipped cream. This unique pie has quite the fan club - we didn't know so many people loved honey until we introduced it! Originally intended as a limited-time special, we've now put it on our permanent menu. Come enjoy a slice! We're open for takeout today and tomorrow.

We're working hard to bake yummy things that will lift people's spirits and combat Sacramento's grey, gloomy skies. We're crazy about vegetables at Real Pie Company! Our house quiche is stuffed full of all our favorites: zucchini, asparagus, broccoli, spinach, potatoes and red bell pepper. Baked in a crispy all-butter crust, this savory treat is great for weekend brunch or a casual family dinner. Come give it a whirl!

What did we learn last week? That our customers Really. Really. Love. Root beer. As a fun frolic, we offered a limited number of Root Beer Float Icebox pies, thinking they would have a limited audience. Instead, they became the Main Event last weekend, and we were woefully unprepared for the enthusiastic throngs of root beer fans who showed up for a slice and couldn’t get one, because we were sold out. : (... Therefore, this weekend we are greatly expanding our production of this captivating, creamy pie, which offers sweet relief from our city’s sweltering temperatures. So, if you missed out on a cool, refreshing slice last weekend, please come back!! We hope to have one for you this time.

We are so happy to announce that Nugget Market in West Sacramento is now carrying our beloved Bourbon-Walnut pie and seasonal Local Bartlett Pear & Wild Blueberry pie with a crunchy streusel topping. These are in addition to Nugget's regular lineup of Real Pie Company fruit and cream pies. The Bourbon-Walnut and Pear-Wild Blueberry will only be available at Nugget (not our shop) for the month of September. Yum!
