This month we give thanks for the people, places, and experiences that have made us and continue to support us. Today Reality Changers Alumni, Gustavo, shares what he is grateful for. I am grateful for all the challenges I have encountered through my educational journey and in life. I have learned so much about myself, including my strengths, my weaknesses, and most importantly, my potential. They have also taught me to not focus on how long it takes me to achieve my goals. Because of this, I give thanks for the challenges that allowed me to grow into the individual I am today.
Join us tonight!

Today, in the spirit of civic engagement on Election Day, we share a few more reflections from our College Town students as they build meaningful community service projects to engage in throughout this year. Today we hear from Juniors Micaela and Alondra about the why behind their projects. I care about education because I think it is very important to not only just have a basis of knowledge that you can rely on, but also it opens a wider range of opportunities that can al...ign with your interests and hobbies. Everyone should have the opportunity to receive an education. - Micaela, Education I care about immigration because the current situation at the border is inhumane. No human being is illegal, therefore, it is unacceptable to deprive someone of their liberty and separate them from their family for trying to seek a better life/flee from their home country due to security reasons. - Alondra, Immigration
Alexis, a senior at Morse High School, shares her dreams of college with us and how she decided on her college list: I’ve always dreamt of going to Stanford as it was a goal for me to aim high and challenge myself. Since it is one of the top 5 universities and located in my home state California, Stanford piqued my interest.
Wishing all those celebrating Día de los Muertos and Halloween this weekend a safe holiday weekend!
Successful distance learning isn’t just about strong Wi-Fi or access to a laptop, our students need consistent support and individual attention. That’s why we’v...e partnered with Reality Changers to create our safe Distance Learning Hub. Every Monday, students at the Hub receive academic support from the Reality Changers team then participate in music programming with our instructors. We’re grateful for all the incredible partners making it possible for us to catch our students before they fall behind and support them during this vital time. #DistanceLearning #MusicEducation
This year, our College Town students are building meaningful community service projects to engage in throughout this year. Their first step has been reflecting on topics that are important to them. Today we hear from Claudia and Firaol, 10th graders, about the topics they chose and why. "The cause I want to focus on is immigration. I care about this cause because my parents are both immigrants and my sister and I have been really focused on wanting to make a change in this area." - Claudia, Immigration "The cause that I will be focusing on is climate change. This cause affects everybody but mainly the younger generation as they will have to deal with more consequences in the future if we don't take action and is why I care about this topic." - Firaol, Climate Change
Rekik, a senior and College Apps Academy Student, has been pushing hard toward her goals. Today she shares what she’s looking for and schools topping her College List. "My priorities for choosing colleges are mainly based on how well those schools programs fit my interests. I want to pursue a career in medicine, so ensuring my top schools have well rounded programs dedicated to my interest in study and internship/career opportunities are key for me."
