Back in the day during my undergrad years. One of my first major projects and introductions to the chemistry side of medicinal herbalism. Natural product chemistry studies the chemical compounds of plants and their effects on humans, animals and the environment. As part of the Biology / Ecology group at ASU, I studied the effects that a fungal endophytes had on the Phenolic production in fescue grasses. There is so much going on beneath the surface as plants change their chemistry in response to stress to heal from disease or defend themselves against predators. Harvest news! Our RD Alchemy garden is growing crazy and producing tomatoes, cucumbers, kale and more.
