A new chapter for all of them, especially meaningful for those who were previously homeless. We are so pleased that some seniors who have been living in motels during the Covid-19 public health emergency and were previously homeless are among those who get to move into Victory Village, Marin County Community Development Agency planning manager Leelee Thomas says in a statement. For those folks and many others, the name of this facility will have a personal meaning. For them, it will be a victory to settle down in a beautiful new home. https://pacificsun.com/affordable-senior-housing-coming-to/

Thank you Eat Learn Play Foundation and World Central Kitchen for providing 700 delicious and nutritious meals for our Oakland residents every week. RCD staff & board members are delivering the meals to residents, so we're hearing how much this support is deeply needed and appreciated. We thank you with all our hearts. #InThisTogether #AffordableHousing #Oakland #EatLearnPlay Pictured below is our Executive Director, Dan Sawislak, delivering meals at Fox Court in Oakland.

#AffordableHousing construction is 'critical infrastructure' so work continues at our much-needed affordable housing developments in San Jose, Fairfax, and Oakland with workers following protocols for infectious disease prevention. Pictured is recent foundation work at Quetzal Gardens in San Jose. Next year, 70 low-income families will call this new community home. Please #donate if you can to support the development of safe, #affordablehousing for those with the fewest options. #InThisTogether #GivingTuesdayNow

RCD leads the Eden Renters Union, a new grassroots tenant rights organization in unincorporated Alameda County. Through it we are educating renters about the new COVID-19 related protections and connecting them with legal resources to ensure families and individuals can stay housed during this crisis. Please #DonateToday to support this vital work. #InThisTogether #GivingTuesdayNow

Many residents in RCD’s #affordablehousing communities lost their jobs in recent weeks. With support from our partners, we are actively reaching out to help them with receiving benefits, negotiating rent relief, locating food pantries, finding low-cost internet service, and providing emotional support. Donate today and together we can help these low-income individuals and families cope with the many impacts of the novel coronavirus. #InThisTogether #GivingTuesdayNow

Welcome Home! In the last month, we moved 47 #veterans who were experiencing #homelessness into the Embark Apartments in uptown #Oakland. Providing safe, stable and #affordablehousing is more meaningful than ever as all Californians are required to take shelter in their homes. A big thank you to RCD’s asset management team and our property management partner, The John Stewart Company, for all of your hard work to make this happen.
