What is Cholesterol? Cholesterol is a fatty substance that is made in your liver or comes from food you eat. Too much cholesterol can be harmful to your body. There are two types of cholesterol.... LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is considered bad cholesterol that makes up most of your body's cholesterol.
