As we prepare to leave Southwestern France- we remain awestruck by all the beautiful places to see and things to do. It’s easy to understand how fanatical people can get about wines when you visit Saint Emilion. The vineyards among the rolling hills are spectacularly beautiful- as is the small town itself. We were fortunate enough to stay at Grand Barrail - Château Hôtel Restaurant Spa and use this lovely place as a base from which to do our winery touring and city-visiting. It’s so great to be among the first American travelers back in France watching as everything opens again! We had a wonderful stay at Château de la Bourdaisière - a real jewel of a place in Loire valley that transports you back in time and is perfectly located tour the Loire region and see all the Chateaux. Today, we visited nearby the town of Amboise for their famous Sunday market and to visit their even more reknown Chateau de Amboise where Leonardo DaVinci lived his last years and rests until today.
