Thank you to everyone who came out tonight to celebrate @soleedarrell and her first solo show, Cloudburst. Soleé’s show is so beautiful and great to see in person. We will have a video tour of the gallery going up soon + we are working on opening up our doors in a few weeks so you will have chances to see it throughout the show’s run. It felt so good to (safely) have people inside the store again. Tonight reminded me of how amazing our community is and how lucky I am to have... this job. This is fuel for me to keep going and to not let myself think that things are not possible just because there’s a pandemic happening. Today, I am thankful for this space and for the people in it. I am thankful for the breeze and the sun. I’m thankful for the sky that I can almost see. The past weeks have been a lot for so many, it’s healing for me to pause and find joy and to remember that I’m surrounded by love and it’s important to stop and recognize it. The air quality is still pretty bad so we are making the tough but correct decision to close again today. Our main priority is the health and well being (both physical and mental) of our staff.
