Start off the new year right by signing up for the 2021 Winter Reading Challenge and diving into a good book! Celebrate diversity and harness the transformative power of seeing oneself reflected in a book with this year's theme, Books Like Us. San Diego residents of all ages are encouraged to take the challenge by reading 5 books or for 5 hours to receive free passes to the Museum of Us, free food from Subway, and a coloring puzzle for children or a doodle journal for teens and adults. We have children's activity kits courtesy of the San Diego Children's Discovery Museum 2020 Roots Series! The kits include materials for a paint-by-number activity in the style of Egyptian artist Inji Efflatoun. Kits are available for pickup during our open hours Monday-Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm (closed 1-2pm for cleaning), either inside the library or via our Contactless Pickup Service, while supplies last.

New program for 2021! Starting next Wednesday, January 6, we will be offering AlphaBundles -- early literacy kits for kids learning to read and write letters. Featuring a new letter every other week, each kit contains coloring and activity sheets, a story, song or rhyme, an early literacy tip for caregivers, and a picture book to check out. Don't miss letter A next Wednesday! Come into the library or use our Contactless Pickup Service!

The 2020 Pride library card is now available here at the Rancho Bernardo Library! We're currently not charging for replacement cards, so you can get yours for free during our open hours Monday through Saturday, 9:30am-5:30pm (closed for mid-day sanitation break 1-2pm).
