Our story during this difficult time ....WE WILL NOT GIVE UP! Dailys Sports Grill was one of the first businesss to open in Rancho Santa Margarita memorial da...y weekend of 1993. Through the years we have had our ups and downs but have never given up . We love this community and all our customers . On St. Patrick’s day, which is always been our favorite day of the year, we got word at 9am that we could not open for business as usual . We opened for take out, and thanks to you guys, sold out all of our corned beef we had prepared. While Jill prepared to go food , I sat at my desk and cried ... I couldn’t open and had to let 34 family members( coworkers) know that the future was uncertain . It was March madness weekend !!!! The next day, we set up a grocery store for our employees and they stocked up on free food ( it’s the least we could do for now ) . We then loaded what was left and took it to the food bank . For a week we assessed our next move and decided to reopen for take out and groceries . We paid our employees instead of our rent . WE WILL NOT GIVE UP . We matched other restaurants pricing to support each other rather than compete, and came up with affordable family meals for the community . And off we went . Myself and a few other employees are working 6-7 days a week from 2-7. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP . We have spent hours on the phone with others businesses in the community on how to navigate this . We have supported each other behind the scenes as we all want to see each other survive . We are taking donations for the food bank, ordering cases gloves for a customer who works in a hospice center and couldn’t get them, took special orders for meat and flour when it couldn’t be found, trying to give back and help when we can . We have worked tirelessly with our vendors to get creative with to-go options and are learning how to navigate this new normal . We have used social media , the community pages ect . We filed with our insurance right away , they will deny the claim as viruses and pandemics are not covered . We have applied for the PPP , nothing . We have helped our staff navigate thru the unemployment process . We have a group text where we share happy , silly , funny moments at home or old pics of our holiday parties or fun Dailys moments so we can stay connected . WE WILL NOT GIVE UP . We love our regulars and people in the community who are supporting us . I’m not gonna lie , it’s tough and many days I go home and think how can I keep this up , how will we survive ? I miss my staff, the people in the community gathering for birthdays, bands , team parties , cheering on our favorite teams . We are still working on our second location in San Clemente , set to open this summer ... WE WILL NOT GIVE UP . So just know every time the phone rings for a take out order Jill, Alfredo and I literally do a happy dance because we may get to see you for a few mins from 6 feet away .. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
