PSA: Due to the critical need to stop the #COVID19 surge, state campground sites in the San Joaquin and So Cal regions, and some in the Bay Area, will temporarily close. Affected reservation holders will be contacted by ReserveCalifornia via email. Cancelations and refunds will be automatic. Day use areas in park units currently open to the public will remain open. Please remember to stay local, plan ahead to find out what is open, wear a face covering, practice physical distancing and avoid gatherings with people outside the immediate household. We want to thank everyone who has continued to support Railtown through these difficult times, and everyone who came out to see us these past two weekends for our holiday activities. Due to the new stay at home order that has just been issued for our region, we must cancel the rest of this season's holiday activities. The park will remain open for outdoor activities during the day, and the Depot Store and Holiday Baggage Car are open with limited capacity for shopping. We hope everyone can stay healthy and safe in these challenging times. Sunday occurs the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and though we are living in COVID times, the event remains true and timely. More than ever, Museum Store Sunday is important and vital to our stores and institutions for increased recognition and future sustainability. Your museum store purchases help to fund ongoing projects, exhibits, and rolling stock restoration for both the California State Railroad Museum and Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. Although the name implies a "Sunday only" event, we'll be honoring our special deals all Thanksgiving weekend long (Saturday, November 28- Monday, November 30).
