R Pals Music

During our closure, the following guidelines will pertain to rental instruments. We have two providers for instrument rental, R Pals owned instruments and Gottschalk owned instruments. Check your contract to see which entity is responsible for billing. If you have an R Pals owned instrument you are on a rent-to-own contract. Your monthly payment will not be collected until the mandatory closure is lifted. Payments missed will be added to the end of the contract.... If you have a Gottschalk owned instrument you may contact their bookkeeper at (209) 580-7825 and leave a message or e-mail her at [email protected] and let her know you wish to return your instrument. She will freeze your contract and allow you to return it in a timely manner when the closure is lifted. We understand the hardships this closure has on all of us. Please stay well.

We are a family owned business, the Loose Caboose is a part of our family owned business. Almost 25 years ago our Dad opened Napa's toy train depot, 24 years ago we opened R Pals Music. Operating at our site on Solano ave until "the crash" when we joined the two in one location. Both stores were struggling in the economic downturn. Many changes occurred for the music store, familiar faces were gone, other revenue sources came into play for principle players. Hours for the mus...ic store were reduced and remain so. Rob, who has severe physical limitations, was now running the store. His role of repairman was now responsible for "the whole enchilada". Three years ago our Dad was diagnosed with cancer and succumbed to that disease leaving Rob the job of bookeeper for the train store as well. Last weekend our Mom passed away after a long struggle with heart disease. This is a lot of information to take in on facebook, and maybe not the best place to do so. Bottom line, R Pals and the Caboose, with the help of longtime employee Roy Ballard, will keep serving Napa and it's outlying communities as only a family business can. Thank you for your patronage. Well into rental season, for the first time ever we are out of trombones, and 3/4 violas! Still have plenty of violins, all sizes, and a few cellos. We also are well supplied with saxophones, clarinets, trumpets, and of course flutes.

School is coming to an end and everyone is thinking about returning rental instruments. Before you do check your contract. If it is rent to own keep it. When you turn it in you loose your equity. Also there are summer programs available to keep your musician playing. Check with your teacher they will have information on these programs sponsored by the middle and high school band programs.
