We want to clarify some costumer concerns regarding smog tests on 2000 & newer vehicles. As per latest state regulations, 2000 and newer vehicles DO NOT need to be tested on the DYNO. 2000 and newer vehicles are tested by downloading the data directly from the computer of the vehicle. This data can be downloaded wirelessly through a DAD unit which the size of a palm of the hand. To someone who is unaware of this procedure, it might seem like nothing is connected to the vehicle. In reality, the data actually is transmitted through the DAD unit wirelessly making the smog check process much quicker.
