Kevin Sichak makes 49ers Cal Hi Sports Bay Area! Set your DVR to record the show this Sunday night at 6pm or 10pm on NBC Sports or 698 directv! Kevin Sichak, QSS National group swimmer, is a senior at Bellarmine and will be swimming at USC in the fall. 49ers Cal Hi Sports came out to the pool recently to check out Kevin’s training, talk to Coach Carrie, and get some video feed in the water. November marks the start of USA Swimming’s coach appreciation month! It’s been a tough year, but we couldn’t have made it through without the help of our amazing coaches! We’ve been so lucky as a club to still be swimming, our coaches are amazing and have been working from the time before the sun comes up and long after the sun goes down to get all our Qs in the water. #ThankYouCoach, we appreciate you! We’ve been a bit quiet on this page, but excited to come back with our first post in a while with a HUGE congratulations going out to Courtney Seljeseth!! We are beyond excited to announce Courtney’s verbal commitment to UCLA to continue her academic and swimming career! Courtney is thinking about majoring in Psychology, but still has some time to make that decision. Courtney has been swimming with QSS for nine years, since she was 7, and she’s still a Junior so we’re lucky to have her for another almost two years. Courtney would like to thank her parents and brother for supporting and loving her, her coaches Andre and Carrie for helping her get to the best version of herself, and her friends for making every second memorable! To All our Members and their Families: A very tough week is coming to an end. Earlier this week, choosing to prioritize the health of the membership, USA Swimmi...ng strongly recommended cancelling all swim meets for 30 days. Pacific Swimming, as well as nearly every other LSC, is following their recommendation by cancelling upcoming meets including our most elite meet, the Far Westerns Championship. In many cases the decision was taken out of our hands as many local health departments, school districts and recreational agencies cancelled sports programs and restricted access to their facilities. We are all disappointed, but now is the time to protect those at risk in our communities. As we transition into this new normal of social distancing, please check our website for updates and other LSC news. No one knows what will happen after this 30-day period comes to an end, but some public health experts are warning that these extreme measures will need to be extended. To minimize disruptions, Pacific Swimming will continue to process meet sanctions that fall outside of this 30-day period, but they will be subject to cancellation should the 30-day period be extended. Pacific Swimming encompasses a large and diverse geographical area and our policy will continue to follow the recommendations and guidelines of the county health departments which have jurisdiction over the various venues where our meets will take place. Please be patient with us as well as your swim club leadership as we work together to safeguard the health and wellness of our communities by conforming to public health guidelines. We wish you and your family good health as we all navigate these challenging circumstances with everyone’s safety and well-being our top priority. We look forward to seeing you on a pool deck soon. UPDATE AS OF MARCH 12: Pacific Swimming is complying with the USA Swimming recommendation that all meets be cancelled for the next 30 days. That means that n...ot only are several of our age group meets now cancelled, but we are also not holding Far Westerns SC April 2-5. Please see our web page at www.pacswim.org for updates and additional information as it becomes available. UPDATE AS OF MARCH 10: Junior Olympics meet this weekend has been cancelled. With the Santa Clara County mandate regarding gatherings larger than 1000, we cannot hold the meet. Emails will go out with more information on refunds etc from Santa Clara Swim Club. We will update you on meets in the next few weeks as we have more information available.
