Greg and Gavin discuss the formation of the Hardkiss Music label and Sun Burn Recordings, releasing a slew of vinyl records, signing with Sony Music, and the importance of retaining the rights to your own music, and how it ultimately helped him run a profitable label while under Sony. Greg and Gavin discuss his last release under Hawke, titled The Dark Art of Light Work, and they then break down one of his newest un-released tracks, Ping Pong (featured on the opening of the Podcast). Gavin talks about his process in creating it, and how he has developed a repeatable workflow to continually create great-sounding music. Enjoy this video to study, work, or set the mood for an evening of smooth electronic music. Having taught himself the basics of producing tracks, Augnos moved to San Francisco to attend Pyramind in 2017, where he discovered Vaporwave, Synthwave, and Hypnagogic Pop. Shortly after, he adopted the moniker Au...gnos and began producing songs with wavy pads and synths dripping in reverb, while adding flavors of rock, glitch, and even retro game music. After completing school at Pyramind, he attended The Academy of Art to pursue studies in Music and Sound Design for Visual Media. Today, Augnos is heavily involved with multiple projects in the vaporwave scene. He is a co-host and editor for Private Suite Podcast, curator for the vaporwave music showcase, Fresh.WAVs, and has been contributing visuals and DJ sets for live streaming events and fundraisers for Pacific Plaza and Rosewood. He was hired by Pyramind in June 2019 and is currently the Studio Production Manager.
