Hello, Dear Friends... As many of you know, Well in the Desert usually has a huge Christmas Dinner at the Convention Center here in Palm Springs. In the past they have fed over 2,000 people that day and Santa gives gifts to all the children. For many of these kids, it is the only gift they receive. Due to Covid, this is not happening this year. Darci Daniels and I have taken up the task to try and fill the gap. We are collecting toys for the kids at Purple Room Supper Club in the lobby of Club Trinidad. If you are able to help, we would truly appreciate it! Thank you, Michael

Dear Friends of Purple Room, It is the Season of Giving Thanks. After an extraordinary year that began with exhilarating heights of so many star performances, exciting shows, joyful dinners and the opportunity to share these events with all of you, to the crashing lows of a dark stage, empty seats and uncertainty for eight months I am grateful. I am profoundly grateful to all the amazing friends and family of Purple Room, near and far. You have been extraordinary in your su...pport and encouragement these last eight months. Though they have been far from the usual whirlwind of showbiz, dinner and cocktails, the past months that we have been closed have given a rare opportunity to embrace the quiet A chance to focus on and take pleasure in the little things. A chance to swim in the kindness of a smile. A chance to reflect on past joys. A chance to say I love you. A chance to dream and share the dreams. A chance to ask you yours. This is my wish for you: Take a chance on what makes you joyful. Take a chance on what brings you peace. I don't know who the glorious souls are who did this to our sign at Purple Room, but you have touched me deeply. We are all trying to be upbeat in these most extraordinary of times and mostly we succeed. Some days are harder than others. It is the kindness and humanity of our family of friends and community that will see us all through. Yesterday was one of those days for me. Going on seven months of being closed, searching for the light at the end of the tunnel and not quite... seeing it, I was in a dark place. I went to the club as do every day. Most days it lifts me up to be there, remembering the amazing entertainers, our incredible staff, the fun and most of all, you, our friends. I spend time planning for the future and the grand times ahead, anxious to share them with you all. However, as I said, yesterday was a dark day for me. Then I pulled into the parking lot and noticed our sign was changed. Someone had come to the Purple Room (with marquee letters, no less!) and added the bottom line to the sign on both sides! I was shocked. I couldn’t believe that anyone would go to all that trouble. For me. For us And then I remembered the truth of this life here in Palm Springs. This community of love that celebrates the joy of life, that embraces the arts, that supports our friends and colleagues, that shares the generosity of spirit AND isn’t afraid to tell you; you are loved. It made me feel very proud of our home. My father used to tell me that our friends are like a trampoline. When you soar, they applaud you. When you fall, they will catch you and encourage you to soar again! Whoever the beautiful people are who did this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your amazing kindness has made such an impact on me and reminded me, when I truly needed it, of who we are. You are my trampoline!
