Today, we observed #IndigenousPeoplesDay at Project Angel Food with Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell (the first ever Native American to be elected to the City Council), and Project Angel Food Board Member Running Bear Ramirez . It was a great chance to announce our new, multi-year research study on Native Americans with Diabetes in partnership with the USC Keck School of Medicine, funded by Runningbear. Councilmember O’Farrell presented him with a commendation from the city, and meals were delivered to 2,100 clients today in Runningbear’s honor. Representation matters, Running Bear told the press gathered for the celebration. And, it does. #projectangelfood
