Energy Savings day at Professional Sound Corp. Brad Meyer is converting all of our light fixtures from fluorescent tubes to ultra high efficiency "ballast bypass" style LED tubes. Each fixture has the be disassembled, have the ballast removed and then rewired. One fixture down, 36 to go! Making this change will cut PSC's lighting energy use by 62%.

It is with great sadness that we must announce that PSC founder Mr. Dick Topham passed away today. Dick opened PSC back in 1986 with the simple idea that a small company could build specialized products that would fill the needs of sound mixers in a way that large companies simply could not do. 34 years later, this is still our companies goal. Dick gave me my start in the audio business when he hired me at Audio Services in 1983. I was straight out of college with a d...egree in electronics and no experience what so ever. He gave me my first job in electronics and really just let me fly as far as my abilities could take me. I owe much of my carrier to his trust in me. Thank you Dick! Coming Soon: PSC RF 4 pack. This new product from PSC will combine elements from our RF 6 Pack and from our Power Star Mini. It will accept any brand slot receiver and provide the two receivers with carefully managed RF and clean DC power. The RF section uses industry standard BNC connectors for your external antennas and can provide easily switch-able power for active antennas. The RF circuitry includes: RF Limiters, Custom RF Band Pass Filters, Super Low Noise RF Amp...lifiers, and Precision RF Splitters. Audio outputs are available on the left side panel via four TB3M connectors. These connectors will pass both balanced analog audio and also digital AES audio signals. This product also contains a complete Power Distribution System that includes two battery inputs that are compatible with all types of NP-1 batteries as well as all of the newer Smart Batteries. A four-color LED battery meter is included and is switchable for all common battery voltages and chemistries. Five industry standard power output connectors are available as well as two USB power outputs with 4 Amps of available current. All connectors are located on the two side panels with the exception of the BNC RF inputs which are located on the front panel. There are no connectors located on the rear panel for obvious reasons. Professional Sound Corp is now fully operational after Covid-19. We are currently operating with limited hours of 9:00AM to 3:00PM M-F. We will resume full, normal business hours as our customers return to working on productions. We are available for repairs, to answer technical questions about our products or to help you in any way possible. Feel free to call us at (661) 295-9395. If possible, all repairs should be shipped to PSC. If that is not possible, we will handle your in-person drop off with your safety in mind. We sincerely hope that all of our customers and their families are staying healthy and safe.

Memory lane, yes that is me, PSC owner Ron Meyer working on a Nagra recorder while employed at Audio Services Corp in 1983. I think this Nagra went in the Pacific Ocean. I was taking it fully apart for a major clean up. I was 21 years old, but looked about 12.

Week five of the Covif-19 shutdown. Doing a little shop cleaning today. I thought I would show you the smallest and largest connectors I have personally wired in my shop here at PSC. The small connector is a 3 pin Lemo connector used for audio connections The large connector is a "Pin and Sleeve" connector on the power cord to my Lincoln TIG welder. Both connectors use similar "pin and sleeve" construction for high reliability. Stay safe out there. Ron

Professional Sound Corporation is partially shutting down due to the Covid-19 Virus pandemic. All non-essential businesses in California have been ordered to close as of today to help stop the spread of the virus. The closure will be in effect until April 19th, 2020. The employees of PSC will be required to stay home during this time period. Please be assured that the owners of PSC will be checking in at PSC daily throughout this time period. We will be checking all o...f the email accounts, phone messages, etc. daily and taking care of any business that is possible. For those of you who are continuing to operate during this event, we will make every effort to be able to help you in any way possible. To everyone in the sound mixer community, We hope you are all safe, healthy and doing OK during this COVID-19 virus pandemic. We understand fully what it is like to be shut down and out of work. We are also experiencing the full effect of the TV and Motion Picture industry shut down. We considered closing for the next two weeks, but decided to remain open. So, for now, PSC is fully operational. We will be operating with reduced staffing on some days of the week for the foreseeable future as some of our employees have children home from school. We have modified our operating hours slightly and we are now open 8:00AM until 4:00PM, M-F. If anything changes, we will notify everyone. Thank you for your continued support and be safe out there.
