Sometimes you just have to start over a few times before you get it right

Just a friendly reminder that succulents like to be left alone. Remember that they are desert plants so they are used to being thoroughly dried out and then getting deluges of rain periodically and rather unpredictably. Also, when they get wet, they are used to drying out quickly afterwards because of the hot sun of the desert. This means that succulents do not like to sit in wet soil for too long. I know it's hard not to nurture your little plants and we feel like nurturin...g means watering. I suffer from this too! It's human nature. I am often reminded to give these little guys some space after I come back from a vacation and they are thriving because I finally left them alone. Haha! As evidence, you will see here these three pots of succulents that I left outside in the shade with no water for 2 months. They're looking healthy, have grown larger, and sprouted more babies.

Curious what you all would pay for something like this (max)? I have been charging $10 but lately it feels too little for the time and effort that goes into it. It's 3x3" ceramic. This one has 7 baby plants in it. Perfect size for window sill or bookshelf. Appreciate your input!

Playing around with larger fall centerpieces while toddler creates chaos while I'm not looking. Someday, I'll be able to focus a bit more on honing these skills but for now it's in 5 minute rushed increments. #practicemakesperfect #slowlybutsurely #planttherapy

Happy Thanksgiving!

This is not what I intended on making today but it sort of just happened. I've never had a great eye for colors but I'm learning slowly. I would catch on sooner if I just studied it. I know there is a simple formula to follow, I just can't bring myself to do it. It feels like cheating to me. Just shows how stubborn I can be. I much prefer the harder route and knowing that I worked it out on my own I love that I am doing and learning things that I never saw my self being any good at. Here's to the next year ahead of trying new things and being kinder to myself while doing it!

I found these pine cone pieces on a walk with Leo. I'm excited to make some more Thanksgiving/Fall centerpieces like this with them!
