Presidio Little League 06.07.2021

Have you registered yet? Well, it's time to do that. Our registration is free this season, in hopes of building our program. P.S. While registration is free it still costs money to run the league, so donations are welcome and needed, maybe you can be a sponsor! Go to www.presidiolittleleague.com to register your players. We will have T-Ball, Caps (Machine Pitch), Minors (Player Pitch), and Intermediate. We do have an option for Juniors (14 year olds) but you will have t...o play with one of our neighboring leagues in our district. Sign up and we'll send you in the right direction. Here at Presidio Little League we take safety into account, first and foremost. We have a Covid-19 protocol as part of our safety plan to do our part to keep members safe. With that in mind, we are having our assessments for Caps, Minors, and Intermediate on Saturday, February 27th, at 10:00am. This will take place at our baseball fields, Sefton Park. Please register your player before this day, so we know how many kids we will be assessing. You should receive information regarding safety protocols and a better schedule a week before the assessments. Any questions, please feel free to email us at: [email protected] Your 2021 Presidio Little League Board

Presidio Little League sends a big thank you to St. Augustine High School for volunteering to assist our Minors team this weekend! Our players are loving the opportunity to learn from a professional high school player as they say. We look forward to continuing this partnership and finding more ways help create a positive community and baseball experience for all the kids involved!

Presidio Little League update for June 6 The Governor and the county have been moving forward with the phases to reopen the State/Counties/Cities ... and we wanted to keep you up to date. FIRST - Sefton Park - Presidio Little League fields are still 'officially' closed. As soon as the City Parks & Rec department opens the fields we will inform you. ... NEXT - The 2020 Spring Season has NOT been canceled - but we know when we DO restart the season there will a LOT for us to adjust. We are also VERY aware that we have families and players that want to play baseball - and others who want to be careful and wait. The Presidio LL board will meet this Thursday 6/11 to discuss all of our options and use all of the input we receive from member families. If you have not given us your input - do so NOW!!! The County is aiming (based on various reports) to re-open the fields for June 12 for LIMITED practices (no more than 12 players on a field). This is NOT 'official' - just what we hear COULD happen. NOTE - this will be staged and NOT include GAMES. GAMES - It is possible games could (UNCONFIRMED) be given a 'go' to start in early July - with extensive added precautions. If games are restarted - it will most likely ONLY be on weekends. Schedules, participating leagues in our District and our own families wishing to participate will be an unknown until we have an official word on the final dates/participants & field availability ... along with facilities/game guidelines/restrictions. PLUS - We' WILL need extra volunteers to help us with field sanitation requirements and more. Without these extra volunteers we may NOT be able to play the games. Changes -> The dugouts to NOT be used. No sharing of equipment (helmets & Catchers gear). The home plate bleachers will be closed with parents and fans asked to bring their own chairs and sit beyond the outfield fences. The snack bar will be CLOSED. Families and players should bring their own water/beverages/snacks. NO SHARED COOLERS, etc. WHY SHOULD WE DO ALL OF THIS ? Because YOUR children ARE worth it !!! We all know these kids need a place to get out and have fun and exercise in a safe environment following smart guidelines !!

Here is the latest about the 2020 Little League season ... Today Little League cancelled the Little League World Series and the Regional tournaments for 'All Stars'. https://www.littleleague.org//little-league-cancels-2020-/... Having said that ... Little League International and Presidio Little League are still hopeful that we can provide a 2020 Little League season to our families and players. It is our desire to possibly be one of the first things your family and your children will be able to do in an effort to 'get back to normal'. When we start the 2020 season, it will be within City, County and State guidelines pointed at keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible. we are looking forward to that day and we will stay in contact with you as we develop the 2020 season and try to make it something special in our 'new normal'. Here's an update on our flood! It got worse before it got better. We have lots of work ahead of us to get the dirt replaced and the turf cleaned and repaired! Picture one is the worst it got, notice the scoreboard sign and the minor field fence! Picture two is our entrance with our Intermediate field!... Picture three is our minor field after the water went back to the river!

Well, even if we weren't safe at home, we wouldn't be playing on these fields right now!! Yikes!

2020 Presidio LL Season Update As of April 5 ... Presidio Little League is ON HOLD until at least mid May.. We do VERY MUCH intend to have a 2020 Season ... when it is safe.... REMINDER - the Presidio fields (Sefton Park) are closed to ALL !!! SAVE LIVES - STAY HOME - BE HEALTHY ... BE PATIENT to avoid becoming a 'PATIENT' !!!

Presidio Little League 03.08.2020

Presidio Little League ON HOLD until April 6. Following a directive from Little League Baseball headquarters issued today, March 12, 2020 ... ALL LITTLE LEAGUES should *SUSPEND* ALL ACTIVITIES through April 6th to aid in the efforts to control the spread of Covid-19 virus.... Presidio Little League will comply with that Little League directive - as are all the Little Leagues in our local District. This directive puts a stop to all games, practices and gatherings ... so NO practices AT ALL through April 6. PICTURE DAY on March 22 is postponed. Because there is no defined end to this situation - we can't offer any plans beyond that date. All questions around when will the season restart, will it push back the end of the season, playoffs & All Star tournaments ... are not possible to be answered for now. ALL of those questions will need to wait for the end of the Covid-19 challenges. So ... when we know - you will know !! in the mean time stay safe! Talk to your kids and make sure they know how to wash their hands and be 'germ-safe' when they are away from your homes. Thanks to all the parents who turned out tonight to learn about our league and kick off the 61st season of Presidio Little League. Thanks also to the Riverwalk Golf Course for graciously hosting our Parent Orientation, and to all of the board members who shared their knowledge and warmly welcomed all of our families. We hope the 2020 season will be a memorable one for all of your kids, and we look forward to seeing you all year long on the ballfields, cheering in the stands, working in the snack shack, and participating in all of our fun events.
