WHY WE LOVE PET DENTAL HEALTH MONTH We love our pets We love our pets and they bring a huge amount of joy into our lives. Pet Dental Health Month is a chance for us to look out for their best interests.... A happy pet Any oral discomfort will be causing our pets a lot of stress. By getting your pet checked out and fixing any problems with their teeth, you are making them much happier and improving their quality of life. A reminder helps Despite loving our pets, we often don’t recognize the signs that they are in discomfort with their teeth. Pet Dental Health Month is a great reminder to let the professionals check them out and make sure they are happy. PET DENTAL HEALTH MONTH ACTIVITIES Go to the vet Taking your pet to a regular veterinary check-up will include an examination of your pets’ mouth. Book an appointment for your pet and work to see if they need any treatments. Brush your pets’ teeth Softly brush your pets’ teeth using an animal’s toothbrush and toothpaste formulated for pets. Toothpaste for humans has way too much fluoride content which can be toxic to animals, so seek a vet’s advice. Extra measures Support your pet’s dental hygiene by encouraging a balanced diet. An animal’s mouth, like ours, has its own self-cleaning system.

With February designated as National Cat Health Month, it’s a perfect time for pet owners to focus on the health of their feline friends. Below are some tips to ensure your furry friend stays in tip-top shape. Schedule Your Cat’s Annual Checkup As professionals we understand how important your furry friend is in your life. The annual checkup will allow us to catch any potential issues early, ensuring your pet stays in the best of health. Keep Your Kitty’s Vaccinations Up-to-D...ate During the annual exam, we will review any necessary vaccinations to prevent your cat from contracting serious illnesses if exposed to other animals. Even indoor cats need protection against disease. Spay or Neuter Your Cat If you haven’t already done so, now’s a good time to spay or neuter your cat. Along with ensuring population control, you will help prevent many potential illnesses or conditions related to the reproductive organs, and will also eliminate many unwanted behaviors. Keep Your Cat’s Teeth Healthy Your kitty’s regular teeth cleanings and exams are an essential component of their overall health. Their teeth may develop infections that can lead to many different health issues. Feed Your Pet a High-Quality Diet To stay healthy, your cat needs a high-quality complete and balanced diet specifically formulated for felines. Make sure the food meets the nutritional requirements of your furry friend’s age and lifestyle. Keep Your Kitty Active Keep your cat active to avoid obesity which can lead to many health issues including diabetes. Pay Attention to the Litterbox One of the first places to look for early signs of illness is the litterbox. Look out for any changes in your cat’s litter habits. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, make sure to schedule a visit to our office as soon as possible. Celebrate Your Furry Friends Now that you’ve taken care of each aspect of your cat’s health, make sure you spend time cuddling and bonding. See more

WHY WE LOVE DOG TRAINING EDUCATION MONTH Let dogs be dogs The outdoors is a great place to let dogs act like puppies and for puppies to well, just be puppies. Dog parks, certain hikes, and open spaces are great for dogs without leashes. Doggy wants a treat... Teach your furry friend a new trick to flaunt to the rest of the dogs in your hood. Treats can help with dog trick training - and what dog doesn't want a treat? A friendly dog is a good dog The only thing worse than a poorly trained dog running around, is the number of them that end up in the pound for bad behavior. Investing the time to properly train your dog, is investing time into a 'good' dog long term. DOG TRAINING EDUCATION MONTH ACTIVITIES Go to a dog training class Find a dog training class or activity in your city. Training a dog alone sounds exhausting - don't do it alone! Teach your dog a new skill In lieu of the 'training' part of this month, see how well your dog is trained by teaching a new trick or skill. Maybe you'll learn something new about your pup - what it likes or doesn't like. Check out a new dog park. Go to a new dog park around town and let your pup off the leash. Most dog parks don't require a leash as long as they are within the gated vicinity, and it's a great spot to let your dog run around while you catch up on emails or read a new book. It's a win- win! This is Maverick! He is goofy boy and got into his hoomans trashcan the other day! He ended up eating a lot of different foods that are not good for dogs and ended up at Pet Emergency and Specialty Center, who immediately took him in and helped him out! Maverick needed IV fluid therapy for about 3 days and a few blood draws to check on his liver and kidneys. His hooman was very worried but had peace of mind knowing she had Embrace Pet Insurance to pay back a portion of... the cost. By having pet insurance she was able to get all recommended treatment for Maverick, and he’s now almost full recovered! Pet insurance is such a great resource to have for all stages of life. Tagged in the photo are few of our recommended companies that our clients use!
