Have you ever wondered how pallets are made? While our crew was on a lunch break from installing Cornerstone Packing and Cooling’s solar roof array, we learned how Cornerstone’s crew gets pallets ready for a large harvest.

Racking in the Solar Industry A lot of planning and design goes into our solar projects. Every project site has unique challenges and various site-specific factors that need to be considered to make the best energy producing solar PV array. A good example of a project we’re currently working on is a roof mounted solar PV array that is located on two different roof types and utilizes two types of racking solutions, or the components that hold the PV panels, for this project.... One PV array is located on a flat membrane roof and was determined to be best suited for ballasted racking solution. The ballasted racking anchors the PV panels with weight that is strategically located to reduce the amount of penetrations in the membrane roof. The other PV array is located on a low sloped metal decking roof, so a mechanically attached racking was the best option to mount the panels. Other projects have used completely different racking solutions based on the specifications of the project. It all depends on the site. This 1 MW DC roof mount at the Cornerstone Packing and Cooling facility in Kingsburg, California is one of many PV arrays that Premier has designed for the Jackson Family to offset their energy usage. Once completed, it will produce 1,7000 MWh a year in energy which will offset over 60% of the facilities energy usage. Solar helps. Premier Renewables has completed a 261 kW solar energy system for Gleanings For The Hungry, a nonprofit organization that runs on volunteers to help gather, process, and distribute excess food and produce for hungry populations around the world. The ground array is designed to generate 443,339 kWh’s per year which will significantly reduce their production costs. The solar energy system will provide Gleanings with power for food processing, dehydration, and volunteer quarters.
