Big box store Costco has made a number of changes at its warehouses during this pandemic, but its latest policy adjustment has our health care workers and first responders in mind. Beginning Wednesday, If you are a first responder, such as a police officer, paramedic healthcare worker, or firefighter, and you have a membership, you can cut the long lines with proof of identification. The changes were posted to Costco's website. Other changes include earlier closing times and limiting the number of guests a member can bring in to two people. This is Costco’s way of trying to thank the 1st responders, and I’d like to give a big heartfelt thank you to all of you also. Well done Costco!

Borrowers are inundating the government’s mortgage forbearance program.The Cares Act, put into place March 27, seeks to limit the economic fallout from COVID-19. It mandates that all borrowers with government-backed mortgages about 62% of all first lien mortgages according to the Urban Institute be allowed to delay at least 90 days of monthly payments and possibly up to a year’s worth. Those payments must ultimately be remitted either at the end of the loan term or in a structured modification plan.Mortgage servicers are required to grant forbearance to any borrower who requests it with no documentation of hardship necessary.

During the first week of March, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported the highest level of refinancing applications since April 2009. Mortgage rates are low and people have been taking advantage, .however there seems to be some confusion between mortgage rates and the current federal reserve interest rate. Lenders have gotten calls asking if they can refinance at zero percent. That isn’t possible, as zero percent is the rate between banks ( bank to bank). The tool calculates just how long your stash of TP will last you during a quarantine.The idea came to them while talking about how much toilet paper they used, and how that would change during the pandemic, and the website was born! It's simple. Users enter how many rolls of toilet paper they have and how many times they visit the loo. Now if we can just find it in the stores!
