March is Women's History Month! Victoria Woodhull (1838-1927) was a Women's Rights Activist and Suffragette who is most famous for being the first woman to run ...for US President. In addition to fighting for the women's right to vote, Woodhull also spoke out for equal pay and the importance of no means no. Her "radical" ideas about gender equality were controversial at the time, but even in the 1800s, she persisted. In 2017, women are still fighting for their rights. At 440 Creates, we support all local women and girls in our community who wish to fight the same fight. Girls Inc. is a local non-profit we've worked with that aims to instill confidence in young girls, inspiring them to be "Strong, Smart, and Bold". In January, our in-house print partner, Precision Graphics/440 Creates donated 100 posters to Girls Inc. of Alameda County for use in the Women's March. Go girls!
