We are entering a new phase of this crazy pandemic life that is going to be requiring most of us to wear a mask, especially when we are out and about. It's very important to be aware of how vital our faces are to our ability to communicate, not only with our dogs but the dogs we may encounter while we move about our world. These babies THRIVE on reading body language and we have just added one more thing to make that difficult for them. Dogs can no longer see your pleasure... in them. They have no idea why they can't see any kind of emotion in your face. Whether it's pleasure, sadness, excitement or fear, they may take longer to adjust to understanding how you are feeling about them and your world. We want to offer a few tips from the adjustments we have made here at Posey's Pals. Always assess the situation before you approach a dog, as it may be in training, or an owner may not want you to approach. If all indicators and the situation allow for a positive interaction, allowing them to briefly see your face, seems to help alot. When approaching, briefly slip your mask down to your chin and show your pleasure in simply seeing them. Say their name and allow them to see that pleasure on your face. Slip your mask back in place and then approach them after they are finally happy to see you. Also if you have sunglasses on, removing them is very helpful to open up your expression. Always speak as though you are absolutely thrilled to see them so they begin to see that, mask or not, they are your world. This is a challenging time for all of us. Try to be aware that it is impacting our fur babies as well. Bear with them as they learn to see you and others behind that mask. We are sending our wishes for a safe and happy summer to all of Posey's Pals! See more

Hello to all of Posey's Pals. Well here we are in this altered reality aka global pandemic. As you know, this is a tough time for all of us and especially small businesses. To say we have been hit hard is an understatement. With travel being ruled out for most, we have lost almost all of our clients for the foreseeable future. With no end in sight, we are letting everyone know that we will be expanding daycare/play opportunities. Many of you had been waiting for this a...nd now is the time. If you aren't interested in daycare or playtime, don't forget that we offer walks, check-ins, transportation and anything else you can think of pet related. Any business would be greatly appreciated during this super challenging time. We want to thank all of you for being THE BEST clients and friends and hope that you stay safe and healthy in the weeks and months to come. See more
