How about a nice trip down PMNA memory lane, thanks to Derek Meluzio. This here is the Porsche Model Club / Meluzio Racing Porsche 924 at an SCCA event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course about 30 years ago. The car started life in the late 70’s as one of the factory Porsche Motorsport North America d-production cars assembled by the late great Al Holbert at his shop in Pennsylvania. It was upgraded and converted to SCCA GT-3 spec with help from Dave Finch. The wheel fans all arou...nd were inspired by Jim Busby and his team that used them on their cars. By the time this picture was taken the team had added the adjustable rear spoiler and adjustable front splitter along with the side exhaust and many other more modern updates to continue to compete with the newer tube frame cars. Don Meluzio campaigned the car successfully resulting in numerous SCCA National victories, a podium at the 1989 Valvoline Runoffs / National Championships, the NASPORT East championship, and a 9th place finish in the 1991 World Porsche Cup and 15th in the 1989 Porsche Cup USA. #Porsche #PMNA #AlHolbert
