Mentally, we’re still processing the whirlwind that the past year has been. Swipe to see what we wrote to you all exactly one year ago when we were at the point of selling toilet paper and pantry supplies to stay afloat after laying off all of our staff. We were begging for the community support us, and you didn’t disappoint. In return, we’ve spent the entire past year giving back to our community in gratitude for putting us in the position we are today - a thriving restaur...ant with a sister restaurant (hello @poppyandseedoc) on the way. This is one of the reasons we’re so passionate about giving back & our donation efforts. We are blessed to be a blessing, and we strive to take all of the support from our community and pour it right back into the community because we believe in DTLA and have ever since we opened up our restaurant. So, at the end of the day, we would take our leftovers and what we hadn't sold and give it out to the people who were sleeping on the street," said Reed. At Poppy + Rose, we don’t let people leave our doors hungry. Located in the heart of DTLA, we have a mission to give back to our neighbors, our community and those in need. Food security is a real problem in Los Angeles and one that disproportionately affects people of color, especially during a pandemic, and it’s our duty as DTLA business owners and BIPOC to make sure our community is as full as our customers are. Throughout the past few months, we’ve been teaming up with or...ganizations like Brown Bag Lady, whose mission revolves around feeding underserved communities. Last week, we did a meal drive of 100 meals, doing our part in helping Brown Bag Lady serve over 10,000 meals since the start of the pandemic. As a Black-owned business in Downtown Los Angeles, our community is everything to us. We believe in having meals together, in coming together for a greater good and giving back whenever we can. We’ve been fortunate enough to stay afloat during this pandemic to due the support of our amazing community, and in return, we’ve donated hundreds of meals to organizations and individuals in need. One of those individuals is Patrick Foster, a sweet, smart man who found himself withou...t a home in DTLA. We’re raising money to help Patrick move into a transitional facility and seek therapy, to help him get the right start to a new life, and we’re asking the Los Angeles community, patrons of Poppy + Rose, our family, friends and neighbors to help us give back to Patrick. From now until August 3rd, Poppy + Rose will also offer 15% off your meal with us, with proof of a donation over $15. Wanna Help??? We are all struggling with this Corona Virus (COVID-19). And right now is the best time to pull together as a community and help each other. Poppy + Rose could use your help! As we try to navigate the best we can throughout this pandemic, we need to lookout for our less fortunate and people who've been directly affected by COVID-19. We have 3 initiatives going on. Here is how you can help.... 1. ORGANIZE We are doing community drop-off ready made meals. If you live within a 10 mile radius from DTLA, we will drop off Ready Made Meals (Pre-Paid Only and 10 order Min.) to your neighborhood. If you are a community leader, have a big family or just want to help spread the word, please Message me for details. Our Ready Made Kits feed up to 4ppl. We have 4 different options available. In return, Poppy + Rose will donate a meal to a family in need for every ten meals sold. 2. DONATE We have created a Go Fund Me for our employees to help during this time.
