This is internal bleaching of one tooth. One of our lovely patients had a discolored front tooth that was root canal treated. We cleaned out the inside of the tooth of the filling material, internal bleached for one week, and then refilled the tooth. Internal bleaching is not perfect, but the bleached color of the tooth is much closer to the natural color of the adjacent teeth. Internal bleaching is a very conservative method of restoring a discolored tooth.
