How has pole dance changed you and/or your life?? . . . Pole dancing has had such a huge impact on who I am today. I have grown mentally, emotionally and physically since I started back in 2013. .... . . I learned how to love who I am. I learned how to love myself through movement, eating clean, positive affirmations and fulfilling my body, mind and souls needs. . . I used cringe over the idea of wearing a bikini in front of people. I hated how weak I always felt. For a short time I developed an eating disorder my senior year in high school. I had started taking diet pills thinking that might help. . . After exploring pole I learned I feel my best when I reconnect with movement through pole, aerial, burlesque, contortion, chair dance, etc.. loving myself comes naturally after this reconnection happens. All these styles make me feel unique, divine, feminine, confident and powerful. They make me feel like a women. . . Top photo was taken 2 weeks after rebirthing Pole Kraze in 2014, bottom video was taken one month before closing Pole Kraze’s new studio in 2017. These were both super important time frames in my life. They have had such a huge positive impact on who I am today. After having kids, I wanted to do something for myself and get back in shape: I found pole dancing. I was curious and intimidated because I though I will find a bunch of beautiful young ladies. When I walked in I was so pleased to find women my age, younger, older and different body sizes! After learning a few moves, I looked myself at the mirror and something just click.
