It's day 199. I went [email protected] yesterday for a quick work lunch, it also happened to be International Poke Day. I'm a huge fan of poke, and when... I'm in the mood for poke that feels more traditionally Hawaiian, I always go here. Their poke is no-frills pre-marinated ahi tuna, salmon, or octopus that come in a large variety of options ranging from oyster sauce to fresh mango. I got my usual spicy mayo ahi poke along with a poke burrito (picturedfirst, I never had a poke burrito before so I had to give it a shot) and some kalbi short ribs. Firstly, I really like spicy mayo poke, and theirs is fantastic. It's fresh chunks of ahi tuna coated in a creamy sauce that has a slight heatit pairs beautifully with some white rice. Next, is the poke burrito which I got with the "basic spicy" poke wrapped in soy paper. Though I was skeptical, it's honestly really good. It's essentially just poke and rice in a travel-friendly vehicle, so if you're on-the-go, it makes for a pretty fantastic meal. Lastly, I got the kalbi, which are marinated Korean-style short ribs. Sweet, savory, and tender, they really hit the spot! I'll have to check the more Hawaiian-related proteins next time I visit such as the pork lau lau, in the meantime, if you're looking for a delicious and quick fix, be sure to pay them a visit!
