If you are going to own a firearm, you need how to properly handle one. This includes safe usage and storage. Even more importantly, if you are a parent, you need to start teaching your children about firearms as well. Start with don't touch, leave the area and tell an adult. If you make firearms a mystery to your child, I guarantee they are going to try and play with one the first chance they get. Not teaching your child about gun safety is a Pandora's box eagerly waiting to be opened. Even if you are anti gun, you should teach your child because I guarantee you have a friend that owns one

It's important for people to understand the reality of being involved In a situation where a perpetrator is using a gun. Most people think that if they were carrying a firearm, that they could stop a bad guy. This is simply not true. It's not just a gun. It is training and more importantly the proper mindset that can and will make a difference. 90 percent of all people Will not be able to shoot someone. It goes against a persons very nature. The best advice is simply this.... It Is to run and hide. Take as many people with you as you can. If left with no other choice then use your gun for protection. Please remember movies and reality are totally different. There are very few real life Rambos out there.
