We thank you for enabling us to hear the gushing of the rivers, the lapping of the waves as they rejoice. We thank you for the water that runs from deep within the earth that fills our well that never runs dry. . We remember that you journeyed with your people, bringing them through dangerous waters on their way to liberation. But we also remember those who did not survive, who perished in perilous journeys across the waters.... . We remember the farmers whose wells have run dry. We remember all creatures who depend on clean water, who suffer because we pollute your precious gift. As we encounter the waters of baptism we confess that these waters are your gift to us. . . The waters of hope, The waters of peace, The waters of joy, The waters of death and rebirth. Help us know in our very bodies that all water is holy. . . Though we are unified as siblings in Christ, we ask God to guide and help our church as it recommits to the work of racial justice, socioeconomic equity, racial reconciliation and ending racism. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
