2020 taught us so much! But this post is dedicated to the man who kept our small business ALIVE AND THRIVING through this turbulent year. He never gave up, never shifted from positivity, and never stopped doing the right thing. Gary always said he created PLSC with a belief that a health club should be about more than just exercise. It should be an oasis to escape the chaos of the world around us and be uplifted both emotionally and spiritually. Losing our fearless leader this year has been hard on our hearts, but we all carry his wisdom within us. We hope you think about him whenever you see one of the many inspirational quotes on our walls ;) we sure do Happy New Year to all of our wonderful members! It is with extreme sadness that we announce that our fearless leader took his final breath on Monday November 9th, 2020. He fought a 14-month battle with terminal cancer while continuing to spread positivity and kindness to everyone with whom he came in contact. 8 years ago, Gary Rubin founded Point Loma Sports Club and brought us all together. He was an incredible boss, mentor, life coach, father, and friend. He was humble, smart, helpful, humorous, and so kind. All of th...e inspirational quotes and positivity you see around PLSC, that’s all him. His vision was to create a culture of inclusion, and a place where people come to be uplifted in all ways. Although his life was devastatingly cut short, he lived it to the fullest and accomplished more than he could have ever imagined. We will carry on his legacy, and more importantly, in his words we will greet each day with love in our hearts and align our thoughts and words in harmony with the world we wish to create. Gary taught us all so much and for that we could not be more grateful. Point Loma Sports Club will remain a family owned/operated business and will continue to flourish in his honor, and we will always ask WWGD (What Would Gary Do?) before every course of action. We will be holding a Celebration of Life to honor him once it is deemed safe to do so. As San Diego moves back into the Purple Tier, beginning Saturday 11/14, we will be bringing the fun back outdoors! We have been here before, and we continue to learn and improve our offerings to provide the utmost safety and enjoyment for our members. Our outdoor tent is equipped with full coverage, heating (coming soon!), lighting, flooring, and all of your favorite PLSC equipment. 4 MONTHS SINCE WE REOPENED AND STILL ZERO COVID CASES AT PLSC! 2020 has taught us how to become experts on adapting, and we are constantly at work to discover... new ways to improve for the safety and comfort of our (amazing) community. Beginning this week we will be working to improve our cleaning protocols, making them more effective AND better for the environment (less wasteful)! Beginning Thursday, when you arrive at the club you will be provided with your own microfiber cleaning towel to wipe down equipment you use. Hospital Grade disinfectant in spray bottles will be placed throughout the club for your convenience. No more single use cleaning products NOTE: Our full-time Health Guards will still continue to disinfect all commonly touched surfaces and equipment throughout the day! We can’t fit the whole gym in a picture anymore Thank you to all of our members for your support and appreciation for our expansion upgrade! We feel lucky to have the best members and staff in town And now we have the best outdoor gym in town Come workout with us today!!

6 hours in 30 seconds WE DID IT! We doubled our outdoor space and it looks AMAZING! With this new configuration, we are able to have so much more equipment and a ton of space for optimal safety!! HUGE thanks to our Health Guards Spencer, Pedro, Jim, Thomas, Selena, and Eustis who were here at 6am moving another 60,000lbs of equipment and making this the best it can be We appreciate you!!

WE’RE EXPANDING(again)!! Wednesday, 8/12, we will be DOUBLING our outdoor tent space! We are so excited and we know our Health Guards can’t wait to bring out another 50,000lbs of equipment Thats what gains are for right?! . PLEASE NOTE: Wednesday 8/12 we will be open from 12pm-8pm (no morning hours because we will be installing the new tent!) We will still have morning classes so you early birds can get your workout in... We can’t wait to show you what we have planned More space, more safety, more of your favorite equipment, more adaptability... that’s what it’s all about!
