Match Report 2-1-20: PLNU Rugby beat Loyola Marymount University 60-31 this past Saturday. Point Loma played a brilliant attacking game in what was an overall high-scoring match. The team as a whole had a greatly successful match but will look to tighten up their less-than-stellar defensive performance moving forward. Match Report: PLNU vs UCI The match opened with 20 minutes of fairly even play. PL stuck first with a penalty kick before adding a try and conversion to build a 10-0 lead. In the final minutes of the first half, UCI found an overlap and broke down the sideline for a try, closing the half 10-5. The second half was a back and forth battle with UCI eventually taking the lead with three minutes to go. In the final minute PLNU pulled even with a try in the corner, but were unable to convert from the sideline. Final score 25-25. Next week PLNU take on Loyola at home. #plnurugby #matchreport
