The POA’s Giving Tree event was extremely successful over the weekend. Although it was a bit different this year with current events, we were still able to give back to the community with the donations from the public and from our Pleasanton Police Officer Association Charitable Foundation. Over $5,500 worth of gift cards, 22 bikes and unlimited smiles were handed out safely to the public. A huge thank you towards our volunteers, Big Bike Build, Pleasanton Police Department, Santa on a Vespa and to all who donated this year. #givingtree #pleasantonpoliceassociation

Our team has been extremely busy the past few days preparing for the Giving Tree event this coming weekend. Our helpers were able to sort, decorate and pack all the wonderful donations that the public has brought in the past few weeks. We were able to support 11 families and over 25 senior citizens in our community. #givingtree #pleasantonpoliceassociation #donate

Today’s #givingtuesday, a day to give back to the community after the busy holiday weekend. The POA will be collecting gifts for senior citizens and families who are in need this holiday season. Due to safety concerns related to COVID-19, we are accepting gift cards from Raley’s, Target, Safeway and Wal-Mart. These gift cards will benefit the many families and senior citizens within our community. We ask that the gift cards do not exceed $25 but there is no limit to the numb...er of gift cards you can donate. We’re asking for all donations to be dropped off at the Pleasanton Police Department before December 16th, as we will be making the deliveries to those in need from December 17th-December 23rd. #givingtree #donate #pleasantonpoliceofficerassociation

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our law enforcement, support staff, and LEO families who protect and serve our community on a day where we are supposed to be with our families. If anyone deserves recognition today, it’s our law enforcement officers and our dispatchers! Remember to be thankful and enjoy those around you. Happy Thanksgiving from the Pleasanton Police Officers Association!

On October 15th, 2019 the Pleasanton Police Department experienced the tragic loss of Officer Kyle Henricksen after his yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. On September 10th, 2020, our organization was again faced with a tragedy as Livermore Police Officer Max Messina, suddenly passed away after receiving a similar diagnosis. In light of these events, the members of the Pleasanton Police Department, in cooperation with the Pleasanton Police Officers Association, are parti...cipating in a No Shave November fundraising event. The goal of No Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing the hair that many cancer patients lose during treatment. November is National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and proceeds from this event will be donated to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. The Pleasanton Police Officers Charitable Foundation has donated $500.00 to start our fundraiser and we are counting on your support. Donations can be made directly to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation using the provided link below. https://www.npcf.us/donate-volunteer/ways-to-donate/donate/

Today our organization remembers Officer Kyle Henricksen who passed away on October 15, 2019 after a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. Kyle began his career in law enforcement with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office in 2005 before joining the Pleasanton Police Department in 2009. Kyle honorably served the community of Pleasanton for over a decade as a patrol officer and member of the department’s traffic unit. Kyle’s warm approach and welcoming smile had become fixtures... at community events such as Cone with a Cop, National Night Out, and countless parades along Main Street. His joyful spirit and infectious laugh permeated throughout our organization and into the lives of those he so honorably served. As our organization still struggles with the loss of Officer Henricksen, we know that we are better today because of him. He truly was Pleasanton’s Finest. Kyle’s commitment to this community and his profession was immense, but it paled in comparison to the devotion he had for his family and friends. Kyle beamed with pride whenever he spoke of his wife or their children. He ensured that every moment had value and used his time on this earth bringing joy to those around him. As Kyle showed us all how to smile in the hardest of times, it was the way in which he lived that inspired us most. President Nicholas Albert

Here is a good read under "Are these guys generous or what" from the Pleasanton Weekly. For someone who claims they do not take special interest money and "running a clean campaign". This should set the record for our residents in Pleasanton.
